About the Job

Join our client, an established logistics group with a growing business presence. They are looking for an experienced Assistant Ocean Freight Manager to oversee and manage ocean freight and customs clearance operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, regulatory compliance, and high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee import, export, customs clearance and ocean freight operations.
• Coordinate with Customs, port authorities, shipping lines, agents and customers.
• Ensure accurate customs documentation, permits and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor Westport/Northport operations, shipment status and container movements.
• Handle operational issues and provide timely solutions.
• Lead and supervise the operations team to meet service and operational targets.
• Coordinate with internal teams, transporters and third-party vendors.
• Monitor operational costs and support process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in customs brokerage, ocean freight, or logistics operations.
• At least 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple operational priorities effectively.
