Job Description & Requirements
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement waste management and environmental management plans for the facilities.
- Manage the segregation, collection, storage, recycling and proper disposal of general, recyclable and hazardous waste.
- Monitor waste quantities and maintain waste generation, recycling and disposal records.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, increase recycling rates and minimise disposal costs.
- Coordinate and monitor licensed waste collectors, recycling companies and other environmental service providers.
- Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Monitor environmental matters such as wastewater, trade effluent, pollution, chemical storage, spills and waste disposal, where applicable.
- Investigate environmental incidents, complaints and non-compliances and prepare appropriate reports and corrective-action plans.
- Prepare monthly environmental and waste-management reports, including waste volumes, recycling rates, environmental KPIs and improvement initiatives.
- Conduct environmental and waste-management awareness/training for operational and maintenance personnel.
- Support the IFM/project management team in achieving the client's sustainability, waste-reduction and environmental performance targets.
Requirements
A Diploma or Degree in one of the following wouldgenerally be suitable:
- Environmental Engineering
- Environmental Science / Environmental Management
- Chemical Science / Engineering
- Waste Management / Sustainable Resource Management
