This role offers the successful candidate hands-on exposure to the full spectrum of accounting and finance functions across the Group’s companies and property development projects. Working under the guidance of experienced Finance team members, the successful candidate will gain practical experience throughout the full accounting cycle—from transaction processing, reconciliations and month-end closing to management reporting, budgeting, project costing, cash-flow planning, audit, taxation and statutory compliance. JOB DESCRIPTION:
- To maintain full sets of accounts for the Group’s assigned companies and property development projects in an accurate and timely manner.
- To prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, statutory financial statements, budgets, forecasts, project feasibility studies and financing documentation within stipulated deadlines.
- To perform month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other necessary accounting adjustments.
- To maintain the general ledger and handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- To assist in project accounting, including project costing, budget monitoring, cost-to-budget analysis, progress billings, collections and credit control.
- To monitor cash flow and assist in cash-flow planning, fund-position reporting and financing or loan-related matters.
- To prepare payment vouchers and process payments by cheque or electronic transfer, subject to the Company’s approval procedures.
- To maintain proper fixed-asset records and assist with periodic asset verification and reconciliation.
- To assist in ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, SST, e-Invoicing requirements, statutory regulations and the Group’s internal policies and procedures.
- To maintain complete and properly organised accounting records, supporting documents and electronic files in accordance with the Company’s document-retention and internal-control requirements.
- To assist in preparing audit schedules, tax computations and other supporting documentation required for statutory audits and tax submissions.
- To liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, company secretaries, government authorities and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- To support the Finance Department in improving accounting processes, internal controls and reporting efficiency.
- To provide general administrative support to the Finance Department, including documentation, filing, report preparation and correspondence.
- To undertake special assignments, ad hoc projects and other related duties as and when required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in Accountancy / Finance an equivalent discipline
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant working experience in the property development industry and/or an audit environment, with exposure to full-set accounts.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, month-end closing and financial-reporting processes.
- Experience in property development accounting, project costing, progress billing, taxation, audit or statutory compliance would be an added advantage.
- Articulate and proficient in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- IT/Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
- Knowledge in accounting software especially in UBS, MHW and iPass.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
- Meticulous, analytical, proactive and committed, with a positive working attitude.
- Able to prioritise assignments, meet stipulated deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic results, relevant internship experience and a keen interest in developing full-set accounting capabilities are encouraged to apply.
