Key Responsibilities
Gear Selection:
Choose correct slings, shackles, cables, and hoists based on load weight, size, and balance.
Setup and Operation:
Attach pulleys and blocks to overhead structures and operate winches or hoists to lift and position materials.
Load Communication:
Direct crane operators and team members using standardized hand signals or radios during lifts.
Equipment Inspection:
Check all rigging gear for wear, damage, or defects before and after every use.
Site Safety:
Identify hazards like unstable ground or bad weather and enforce safety rules.
Requirements and Qualifications
Physical Fitness:
Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and lift heavy equipment regularly.
Technical Skills:
Capacity to read lifting plans, calculate load weights, and understand load charts.
Experience:
Previous hands-on experience in construction, industrial manufacturing, or maritime environments.
