Your Role

We are seeking a strategic relationship builder to lead client partnerships and supplier engagement initiatives that drive our sustainability programs' growth and impact. The ideal candidate combines commercial acumen, proven project leadership, and a passion for sustainable supply chain transformation.


You will manage key client relationships, oversee project delivery, lead cross-functional teams, and identify opportunities to expand Earthworm's services - advancing traceability, supplier engagement, and grievance management initiatives in support of our strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities for this role include:


Project & CLient Leadership:

  • Lead planning, delivery, and performance monitoring of assigned projects and client portfolios, ensuring objectives, timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
  • Serve as primary relationship owner for key clients, developing account strategies that align client goals with Earthworm's offerings
  • Facilitate strategic discussions with clients and stakeholders to address challenges and drive continuous improvement
  • Report progress, achievements, and risks to clients and senior management


Supplier Engagement & Program Delivery

  • Lead supplier engagement strategies to strengthen supply chain performance, transparency, and compliance
  • Oversee implementation of traceability, grievance management, and NDPE (No Deforestation, No Peat, No Exploitation) programs across assigned geographies
  • Coordinate effectively between field teams, technical experts, clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders


Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients
  • Contribute to proposals, client presentations, contract negotiations, and business planning
  • Leverage market intelligence and stakeholder networks to spot emerging trends and opportunities


People Leadership & Team Development

  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Support resource planning and team development for effective delivery
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across teams


Your Profile

You would need to have at least 5-10 years of experience of business-to-business client management experience and one that can excel in handling client relationships. Someone with a strong consultancy background would be a valuable asset. You should have some experience in field-based issue resolution, demonstrating your ability to understand conflicting inputs, achieve alignment, and propose effective solutions. One that is comfortable to participate in field activities.


In addition your program management skills will be put to the test as you manage multiple projects simultaneously. You will coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are es-essential to maintain clear and effective interactions across all levels. You come with the willingness to learn from others you enjoy working across teams and functions and take initiative whenever an opportunity arises.


A good understanding and keen interest in environmental and social issues in Malaysia, especially related to the palm oil industry, will be an advantage. You must be open and eager to be exposed to areas of business supply chain and sourcing issues. You may not have the extensive experience in the industry but your willingness to develop your career path towards building relationships with companies, governments and civil society organisations to bring responsible products to the market will be of advantage. Advanced computer skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite, are necessary to perform effectively in this role.


To be successful, it would be a good to have some understanding of RSPO/MSPO requirements and have fluent ability to converse in Bahasa Malaysia and English. One that loves to participate in a collaborative and organized manner, and can thrive in fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment.


Workings Conditions

  • Education: Preferable Business Management, Environmental Sciences, Forestry or any related field
  • Experience: 5 years minimum
  • Language(s): Bahasa Malaysia & English
  • Employment: Full-time / 2-year fixed term - renewable
  • Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
