About SGX

Singapore Exchange (SGX Group) is Asia's leading multi-asset exchange, operating marketplaces for equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities and derivatives. As a key financial market infrastructure, SGX facilitates price discovery, capital formation, risk transfer and investment opportunities for participants across global markets.

SGX also operates as central counterparties (CCPs) that clear and settle transactions executed on its markets. By acting as the buyer to every seller and the seller to every buyer, the clearing houses reduce counterparty credit risk and promote the safety, stability and integrity of the financial system. Through robust risk management standards and financial safeguards, SGX plays an important role in supporting resilient and efficient capital markets.

About Risk Management

The Risk Management division is responsible for safeguarding SGX's clearing houses and ensuring that they maintain sufficient financial resources to withstand the default of a clearing member, even during periods of severe market stress. The team achieves this through the establishment of robust risk management frameworks, active monitoring of clearing member risks, calibration of margin requirements and clearing fund resources, and the maintenance of comprehensive default management arrangements.

Working closely with regulators, clearing members and internal stakeholders, the Risk Management division seeks to ensure that risks arising from member defaults are identified, measured and appropriately mitigated. Through rigorous risk surveillance, stress testing, financial resource sizing and default preparedness activities, the team contributes to the resilience of SGX's clearing ecosystem and helps reduce the potential for systemic disruption to the broader financial markets.

The Risk Control role provides an opportunity to work at the intersection of financial markets, clearing risk management, and default management. The successful candidate will be expected to understand how macroeconomic developments, market events and product-specific factors can impact clearing members and SGX's risk exposure so that such risks can be mitigated on a timely basis.

The candidate will play a key role in member surveillance, margin governance, default preparedness, and crisis management activities across SGX's clearing businesses.
