Our client, a global engineering and technology company, isseeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Data Centreengineering team in Singapore.

The role focuses on the design and delivery of large-scalemodular engineered systems from concept and detailed design throughfabrication, testing, commissioning and field deployment.

Location: Singapore West
Employment: Contract (1 year renewable/convertible)
Industry: Data Centre / Modular Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for modular equipment and engineered systems.
• Design and optimize equipment layouts, piping arrangements, structural assemblies and mechanical interfaces.
• Perform engineering calculations and analyses.
• Prepare technical specifications, BOMs, engineering reports and design documentation.
• Develop/review 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Project Engineering teams.
• Work closely with suppliers, fabrication vendors and contractors.
• Support FAT/SAT, manufacturing, commissioning and technical troubleshooting.
• Participate in customer technical discussions and design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience may come from mechanical design, industrial systems, manufacturing, utilities, HVAC, water treatment, modular equipment or infrastructure.
• Strong mechanical engineering and design fundamentals.
• Experience with equipment layouts, piping systems, assemblies and fabrication drawings.
• Good understanding of fabrication, manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo and/or AutoCAD.

Advantageous

• Data centre or mission-critical infrastructure experience.
• Modular / packaged equipment / skid system experience.
• Engineer-to-Order (ETO) product experience.
• Piping or structural design experience.
• Experience taking projects from design through fabrication, testing and commissioning.

Travel: Up to 40% within Asia.
