Role Overview
My client is looking for an experienced APAC HR Manager to lead and manage the full spectrum of Human Resources activities for the region, with Singapore as the primary base.
This is an individual contributor role suited to a hands-on HR professional who has experience managing the complete employee lifecycle and working across multiple HR disciplines. The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders and employees across APAC, supporting the organisation through continued growth and development.
The role will work across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and other APAC markets, collaborating with global HR teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent and effective HR practices across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary HR lead in Singapore, providing end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle.
- Partner with senior business leaders and managers across APAC to provide practical and commercially focused HR advice.
- Manage day-to-day HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, policies, employee engagement and HR operations.
- Manage and advise on complex employee relations matters, including PIPs, disciplinary actions, investigations, terminations and redeployment.
- Provide guidance on local employment legislation, HR policies and best practices across relevant APAC markets.
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition on recruitment across various levels, including defining requirements, interviewing, selection and offer processes.
- Manage and enhance onboarding and offboarding processes to deliver a positive employee experience.
- Support annual compensation, merit, bonus and equity processes in partnership with global and regional HR teams.
- Partner with employees and managers on HR-related queries, including benefits, policies, learning and development, performance and HR systems.
- Develop and maintain HR reporting, dashboards and metrics covering headcount, turnover, recruitment, employee movements and other key workforce trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies and ways of working across the region.
- Lead and contribute to regional HR projects and initiatives in partnership with global Centres of Excellence and HR leadership.
- Collaborate with global HR teams across Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Talent Management, Learning & Development and HR Operations.
- Support organisational development, employee engagement, inclusion and other people initiatives across APAC.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive employee and business matters.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of progressive HR experience, with broad exposure across multiple HR disciplines.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end HR activities in a standalone or regional HR capacity.
- Experience working with international or multinational organisations and supporting geographically diverse employee populations.
- Strong employee relations experience, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary matters and terminations.
- Good understanding of employment legislation and HR practices across Singapore and preferably other APAC markets.
- Strong experience partnering with senior stakeholders and business leaders.
- Comfortable working as an individual contributor and taking ownership of the full HR agenda with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Strong understanding of recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, compensation & benefits, performance management and employee engagement.
- Experience working with global HR teams and Centres of Excellence.
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms is preferred.
- Experience within financial services, financial markets, technology or another highly regulated international environment would be advantageous.
