Ichor Systems, Inc. Hiring! Full Time Manufacturing Engineer in Selangor - Ricebowl

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team in Malaysia and support the successful transition of products from design through to production

In this role, you will improve product manufacturability, resolve day-to-day production and mechanical issues, and work closely with operators, technicians, engineers, and overseas teams to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently and consistently.

Responsibilities:

• Handling product development activities from the design stage through to production, ensuring a smooth transition into manufacturing
• Review and improve product designs based on customer requirements and manufacturing needs
• Provide timely mechanical engineering support to resolve technical issues and ensure drawings are released with minimal delay
• Prepare weekly and monthly mechanical engineering reports to track activities, progress, and performance
• Drive design improvements throughout the product life cycle to enhance manufacturability and production efficiency
• Improve Engineering FAI release capacity from 11 to 13 FAI per day
• Improve Manufacturing Capability Assessment turnaround time from an average of 2 days to 1 day
• Evaluate and coordinate alternative part requests from Buyers or SPS/PR, with the aim of reducing the change cycle time from an average of 3 days to 2 days
• Support the qualification and development of new outsourced suppliers
• Investigate and resolve production issues related to labels, cut lists, fitting and component compatibility, and drawing requirements within the targeted timeline
• Lead Non-Conformance (NC) improvement projects for both internal production and outsourced suppliers
• Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, including Work Instructions, OCAP (Out of Control Action Procedure), FMEA, and Control Plans, to support ISO 9001 certification and ongoing compliance
• Work closely with manufacturing operators, technicians, engineers, and overseas counterparts to address production challenges and drive continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Machining, CNC Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing, machining, precision engineering, or similar environment
• Good working knowledge of engineering drawings, mechanical design, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other engineering/design software.
• Experience with FAI, FMEA, Control Plan, OCAP, Work Instructions, or ISO 9001 documentation is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate issues and implement practical solutions
• Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with production teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience with weldment, CNC machining, or precision manufacturing will be an added advantage
