Position: Configuration Engineer (Fresh Graduate)

Job Overview

We are looking for a meticulous and driven Configuration Engineer (Fresh Graduate) to join our semiconductor manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing product configurations, process recipes, equipment setup parameters, and Bill of Materials (BOM) across the manufacturing lifecycle. You will work closely with Process, Equipment, Product, and Quality Engineering teams to ensure that line configurations are accurate, traceable, and compliant with production standards.

This position is ideal for recent graduates in Engineering or technical disciplines who are keen to build a career in semiconductor manufacturing and engineering change management.

Key Responsibilities

• Product & Process Configuration Management:
• Maintain and control product structures, Bill of Materials (BOM), and part numbers in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems (e.g., SAP, Agile).
• Assist in setting up and validating process recipes, parameter rules, and manufacturing execution system (MES) configurations for production lines.
• Ensure correct tool/machine configurations are assigned to specific semiconductor packages or wafer processing lots.
• Engineering Change Control (ECN / ECO):
• Coordinate and process Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN) for manufacturing operations.
• Verify that all technical change requests are reviewed, approved, and implemented without causing disruptions to the production line.
• Maintain complete change history logs and traceability records for auditing purposes.
• Production Support & Line Compliance:
• Work with Process & Equipment Engineers to audit tool setups and ensure physical line configurations match documented standards.
• Identify and resolve configuration-related holds or misconfigurations on the manufacturing floor.
• Support the setup of new product introductions (NPI) on the manufacturing line.
• Documentation & Data Management:
• Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Configuration Work Instructions.
• Audit manufacturing configuration data regularly to eliminate discrepancies and maintain yield targets.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor/Microelectronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: Fresh graduates are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior internship experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics assembly, or industrial process management is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Basic knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes (Wafer Fab, Assembly, or Test Operations).
• Exposure to ERP/PLM software (e.g., SAP, Agile PLM) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Order (ECO) workflows and BOM structures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables) for data validation and reporting.
• Soft Skills:
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional manufacturing teams.
• Willingness to work in a cleanroom environment or fast-paced manufacturing site when required.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• Basic understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control), FMEA, or 8D problem-solving methodologies.
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
