Nanyang Technological University Singapore Hiring! Full Time Research Fellow (Hydraulics) in - Ricebowl

A one-year Research Fellow position is available in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The project is in the area of coastal hydrogeology, seawater intrusion, freshwater lenses, and sustainable groundwater extraction. The research includes using analytical, numerical, laboratory, and field-constrained approaches to investigate coastal groundwater movement and develop strategies for seawater-intrusion prevention and freshwater-resource protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting field and laboratory tests, as well as numerical modelling on soil hydraulic properties and movement of groundwater in soil
• Writing project reports
• Writing scientific papers
• Supervising research students
  
  

Job Requirements

• PhD degree in Hydraulics from reputable universities/institutions
• Research experience in seawater intrusion and water resources utilization
• Strong publication record in decent journals in the field (e.g. Journal of Hydrology, Water Resources Research)
• Good writing and communication skills
• Experience in supervising research students and writing research proposals
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong initiatives
