Maintenance Engineer
About the Role
Our client, a manufacturing company based in Boon Lay, is looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to lead maintenance operations and keep plant equipment running at peak performance. Transport is available from Jurong Point.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot and carry out corrective maintenance to minimize downtime and keep equipment performing optimally
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of plant machinery
- Plan and schedule maintenance activities to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations
- Manage spare parts inventory to ensure critical components are available when needed
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors for technical support, spare parts, and maintenance services
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to boost reliability and productivity
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and maintenance procedures
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with automation systems — troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment
- Experience in steel manufacturing is a plus
- Strong knowledge of IPCs, PLC programming, drive control systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to perform well under pressure and respond promptly to maintenance issues
- Willing to work 5.5 days/week with overtime as needed
- Valid driving license preferred
