About the role

GET BUILDERS PROSPECT SDN BHD is seeking a talented M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Engineer to join our team in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the design, planning, and execution of mechanical and electrical systems across our construction projects. As an M&E Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all building services are installed to the highest standards, comply with relevant regulations, and meet project timelines and budgets. This role is essential to the success of our construction initiatives and directly impacts project delivery and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring compliance with Malaysian building codes and international standards

• Prepare detailed M&E drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for project teams and contractors

• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate M&E systems seamlessly into project designs

• Conduct site inspections and ensure that M&E installations are executed according to approved designs and quality standards

• Manage contracts and liaise with M&E subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project requirements

• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for mechanical and electrical works

• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions to resolve site-based challenges

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and progress reports

• Ensure health and safety compliance on all M&E installations and site activities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in M&E design or contracts management within the construction industry

• Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools

• Strong knowledge of Malaysian building regulations, electrical codes, and mechanical standards

• Excellent understanding of HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and fire protection systems

• Proven experience in preparing technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents

• Strong negotiation and communication skills to liaise effectively with contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines

• Professional certification (PE, BEM, or equivalent) is advantageous

• Proficiency in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is beneficial

• Willing to travel as required for work.
