Since the first metro project in Hong Kong in 1975, ALSTOM Hong Kong Limited has supplied over 1,100 metro cars for its metro network and equipped seven lines with signaling systems currently in operation, contributing positively to the urban transport system development in Hong Kong.
We are looking for Installation Engineering Leader based in Hong Kong to join our dynamic team. We deliver multiple signaling projects to our customer MTR with dedication to sustainable and smart mobility in the field of design, engineering, installation and test & commissioning. JOB SCOPE: In compliance to EHS (Zero Deviation) and Regulatory standards, the Installation Engineering Leader organizes, leads, and coordinates the IE studies and activities, in coordination with the installation management, design teams, interfacing parties ensuring integration on field and installation of the complete System. He/she has end-to-end accountability at project level on below tasks, together with the IE engineers under his supervision:
Responsibilities
Forecast and manager the list of deliverables with related schedule and workload, also in accordance with the reference library (analysis of reusable documents, gaps, …)
Ensure the deliverables are prepared in in accordance with the project execution requirements: customer, installation subcontractor, local regulation, …
Support the Field team (Installation Supervisors, Sig Project Site Managers, Sig Installation team Leaders, etc…) to understand and review the deliverables and prepare design modification or change requests following inputs from site
Organize design drawing transmittals from design team to installation team and request for site team approvals.
Leader the Civil / Trackwork / Electrical interface drawings (e.g. Station building drawings, track layout drawings, ...) and provide Sig equipment requirement for space allocation & applicable provisions
Monitor and negotiate access dates to interface provisions and ensure the company’s contractual requirements are satisfied.
Prepare Installation material specifications & Installation BoQ
Study specific signalling hardware to prepare for typical installation design drawings for site team to use.
Analyze mechanical design and utilize provided software to justify the design integrity.
Manager the review cycle of the documentation (Internal and external: Customer, Subcontractor, …)
Report on the progress of the delivery of the document to be provided as per schedule
Support the Installation Management for QCD review of the IE activities, including Risk identification and mitigation proposal and Man, Machine, Method and Material Checklists
Interfaces with other Project stakeholders – internal or external - for getting needed data, for delivering the IE
Identifies and reports on issues on document and drawing delivered and provide REX on main route cause of issues and on reference library evolution
Performs Site Surveys during preparation and execution phase (if necessary)
Ensure application of D&IS Installation and FO Process for Installation Engineering activities
Experience
Degree in Engineering
At least 7 years of experience in signalling installation design, with at least 2 years of leadership experience
Strong understanding of interface processes between Civil / Trackwork / E&M works and rail sub-systems
Strong knowledge of railway signalling hardware and Hong Kong MTR practice on metro or mainline applications
Team spirit approach and good communication and negotiation skills
Possess the agility to adapt to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment
