SENIOR ELECTRICAL R&D ENGINEER – MEDICAL DEVICES
PCB | EMBEDDED HARDWARE | IEC 60601
Salary: SGD 6,500–7,500+ per month
Location: Singapore
Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical R&D Engineer to lead the development of electrical and embedded hardware systems for advanced electromechanical medical devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical architectures, specifications, schematics and PCB designs.
- Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, power-supply and signal-conditioning circuits.
- Develop embedded control, motor-control and power-delivery systems.
- Support sensor integration, data acquisition and communication interfaces.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers on hardware and embedded-code integration.
- Perform hands-on testing using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, spectrum analysers and multimeters.
- Lead electrical verification, troubleshooting and root-cause investigations.
- Ensure compliance with IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2 and EMC/EMI requirements.
- Lead electrical dFMEAs, risk assessments and hazard analyses.
- Coordinate EMC, safety and environmental testing with external laboratories.
- Support 510(k), CE Mark and other regulatory submissions.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
- 6–9 years of electrical design, embedded systems or R&D engineering experience.
- Strong schematic-capture and PCB-layout experience using Altium, OrCAD or similar tools.
- Strong analog, digital, mixed-signal and power-electronics knowledge.
- Experience with motor control, sensors and interfaces such as USB, HDMI, Ethernet, CAN, SPI, I²C or wireless/RF.
- Hands-on IEC 60601, EMC and medical-device design-control experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with surgical, endoscopic, imaging or other Class II/III medical devices is advantageous.
