Job Description

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Report primarily to the Group Assistant Accounts & Finance Manager. 

  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, payment tracking, ageing analysis, and follow-up on overdue accounts. 

  • Review supplier invoices to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper system entry. 

  • Prepare accounts payable documentation, obtain approvals in accordance with SOP, and issue payment vouchers. 

  • Process payments via Maybank2E and send payment notifications. 

  • Ensure timely payment of routine and scheduled expenses (e.g. utilities, hire purchase, director fees) and follow up on invoices. 

  • Maintain and update vendor and creditor accounts, including credit terms and ageing reports. 

  • Maintain and update AP and payment checklists. 

  • Monitor bank balances to ensure sufficient funds before payment. 

  • Prepare bank reconciliation reports for all companies. 

  • Manage petty cash and post expenses to the general ledger. 

  • Generate reports and provide data for cash flow analysis. 

  • Prepare full set of accounts, including journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reconciliations for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing. 

  • Maintain balance sheet schedules, including intercompany and fixed asset reconciliations. 

  • Prepare project revenue worksheets based on the stage-of-completion method. 

  • Support the Group Assistant Accounts & Finance Manager by providing required data and reconciliations. 

  • Prepare and submit SST filings on a timely basis. 

  • Prepare audit and tax schedules for annual audit and income tax submissions. 

  • Handle BG, letters of credit, and monitor other investments. 

  • Prepare statutory documents and liaise with the company secretary to ensure compliance. 

  • Responsible for liaising with the Strategy Department to ensure alignment of initiatives, effective communication, and seamless execution of organizational objectives. 

  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on our core values, accountability and growth. 

  • Achieving the company’s yearly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) efficiently. 

  • Maintain good working relationships with superior, employees, colleagues, HODs, and third parties. 

  • Keep the superior informed on task progress and perform other related duties as assigned. 

  • Participating in ad-hoc request. 

  • Other tasks assigned by superior from time to time. 


Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in accounting or finance roles.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

  • Ability to handle full set of accounts and perform month-end closing activities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
