Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Review small project, mechanical or campuswork orders for compliance to campus standards and compatibility with existingsystems.
2. Assign job tasks and goals to individualsand/or work teams; prepare work schedules and timelines for jobs and projects.
3. Analyse work requirements, prepareestimates and appropriate construction specifications and purchase parts.
4. Prepare cost/material estimates for fundingand construction, based on project requirements.
5. Ensure that contractors and the in-housepersonnel comply with all aspects of their contract in the timeliest and costeffective manner.
6. Communicate in person at job meetings,phone, etc. and provide scheduling information to clients.
7. Establish and maintain contacts withvendors and contractors and schedule bid dates and attend bid openings.
8. Supervise, inspect, and evaluate the workof in-house crafts/trades personnel and outside contractors assigned to workprojects.
9. Monitor operating budget to assure thatcosts are within estimates.
10. Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements and skills
Diploma in Engineering minimum 6 year related experience.
Proven experience as construction project.
understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Familiarity with construction/ project.
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
