Electrical Engineer / Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee site execution, technical submittals, and trade coordination for our M&E construction projects. This role is tailored for a seasoned site practitioner who thrives in a fast-paced site environment, excels at managing sub-contractors, and possesses strong practical knowledge of Singapore electrical codes, LTA project guidelines, and authority regulations.
Responsibilities
- Site Execution & Supervision: Lead and supervise daily site installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical building services (LV distribution, power, lighting, switchboards, generators, and ELV systems).
- Technical Review & Shop Drawings: Review single-line diagrams (SLDs), technical submittals, and material specs. Oversee the preparation and submission of shop drawings and site coordination drawings.
- Progress & Quality Control: Track site progress against project schedules, ensure high standards of site workmanship, resolve site technical issues, and enforce quality control.
- Trade & Stakeholder Coordination: Represent Smitech in site meetings with Main Contractors, Consultants, Subcontractors, and internal mechanical/BIM teams to resolve cross-trade interface clashes.
- Authority Compliance & Handover: Ensure all electrical installations strictly comply with EMA regulations, SS638 (CP5), Singapore Codes of Practice, BCA regulations, WSH safety guidelines, and LTA standard specifications. Support LEW testing, inspection, and project handover.
- Procurement & Commercial Support: Assist Quantity Surveyors in verifying material take-offs, assessing subcontractor progress claims, and evaluating variation orders (VOs).
Requirements
- Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on site experience in M&E construction or building services projects in Singapore.
- Proven track record in executing LTA (Land Transport Authority) infrastructure or transit-related projects in Singapore.
- Strong experience in supervising site installations, coordinating sub-contractors, and managing trade interfaces.
- Solid working knowledge of Singapore Electrical Codes (SS638 / CP5, SS555, SS531), EMA regulations, and LTA Architectural & Building Works Specifications (A&BWS) / Materials & Workmanship (M&W) specifications.
- Proficient in reading Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and shop drawings.
- Proficient in AutoCAD; basic familiarity with Revit MEP or BIM coordination is an advantage.
- Registered EMA Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) Technician/Grade 7 or 8, or bizSAFE / WSH certifications will be a strong plus.
- Strong site leadership, analytical troubleshooting, independent problem-solving, and clear communication skills.
