About the role

IBIDEN Electronics Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an Account Officer to join our finance team on a full-time basis at our Bukit Minyak facility in Penang. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting department. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks that directly contribute to the financial health and compliance of the organisation. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting expertise within a reputable electronics manufacturing company.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and processing financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and purchase orders in the accounting system

• Reconciling bank statements and ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies

• Preparing and maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and statements

• Processing payroll information and supporting payroll administration activities

• Managing and filing financial documents in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements

• Performing month-end and year-end closing procedures as required

• Supporting the accounts team with general administrative and clerical duties

• Liaising with internal departments and external parties regarding financial matters

• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company financial policies

What we're looking for

• A relevant diploma or certification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• 0-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, or recent graduate with accounting knowledge

• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel

• Competent numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy in financial calculations and data entry

• A solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial processes

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial records

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Professional integrity and the ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion

• Willingness to learn and develop accounting skills within a professional environment

• Preferably, exposure to ERP systems or experience in a manufacturing environment
