About the role

WING INTERNATIONAL (SOUTHERN) SDN. BHD. is seeking enthusiastic and experienced IGCSE Secondary Economic Teachers to join our education team on a full-time and Part Time . This is an exciting opportunity to teach International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Economics to secondary-level students in Johor Bahru, Johor. As an IGCSE Economics teacher, you will play a pivotal role in developing students' understanding of economic principles, preparing them for examinations, and fostering critical thinking skills that will serve them throughout their academic careers and beyond.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality IGCSE Economics lessons that align with the Cambridge International curriculum and examination requirements

• Develop and maintain comprehensive lesson plans that incorporate varied teaching methodologies and cater to diverse learning styles

• Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development

• Prepare students effectively for IGCSE Economics examinations through targeted revision sessions and practice examinations

• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement, participation and intellectual curiosity

• Maintain detailed records of student attendance, progress and achievement in accordance with school policies

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements and areas for improvement

• Collaborate with colleagues to develop departmental resources, share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Economics curriculum

• Participate in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of economic concepts and educational methodologies

• Support the school's extracurricular activities and contribute to the broader school community

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, or a related discipline; further qualifications in Education or PGCE would be advantageous

• Teaching qualification or certification appropriate to secondary education in your country of origin

• Proven experience teaching IGCSE Economics or equivalent secondary economics curriculum to students aged 14-16

• Solid understanding of the Cambridge IGCSE Economics syllabus and assessment requirements

• Strong subject knowledge of macroeconomics, microeconomics, international economics and development economics

• Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to maintain discipline whilst creating an engaging learning environment

• Proven ability to differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities and learning needs

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues and senior management

• Proficiency in the use of technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning

• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in educational practice

• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment
