Role Description The Software Engineer Intern role at CARii is a full-time hybrid position based in WP. Kuala Lumpur, with flexibility for some work-from-home days. The intern will support the development and maintenance of back-end web services, contribute to new features, and help improve system performance and reliability. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, debugging and resolving issues, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with other engineers and product team members. The intern will also assist with documenting technical solutions, learning best practices in software engineering, and contributing ideas to enhance the student-focused Empowerment Hub.


Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, databases).
  • Skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, including building and integrating APIs.
  • Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.
  • Familiarity with common web technologies, frameworks, and version control tools (e.g., Git).
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, collaborate with a team, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Interest in student-focused products, transportation solutions, and learning in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
