Programme Overview

The Mid-Career Management Associate Programme (MCMAP) is a strategic talent programme designed to attract experienced professionals with strong leadership potential and accelerate their readiness for broader management and leadership responsibilities in SBST.

The programme aims to strengthen the organisation's leadership and talent pipeline by bringing in experienced professionals who can contribute their existing expertise while gaining exposure across different functions and business areas.

Over the 24–36-month programme, Management Associates will undertake rotational appointments, typically lasting 12–15 months. Appointments will be determined based on organisational needs, business priorities, individual capabilities, and identified capability or leadership gaps.

The programme provides an opportunity for experienced professionals to broaden their organisational perspective, develop cross-functional capabilities and take on progressively broader responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake rotational appointments across selected functions, departments or business areas based on organisational requirements.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities, projects and business outcomes within each appointment.
• Apply existing professional, managerial, technical or specialist expertise to address business and organisational challenges.
• Lead or contribute to strategic, operational and business improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with senior management and key stakeholders across different functions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, productivity, service delivery and organisational effectiveness.
• Develop a broader understanding of the organisation's operations, business priorities, governance and strategic direction.
• Build effective working relationships across functions and levels of the organisation.
• Adapt quickly to different roles, teams and operating environments throughout the rotations.
• Participate in leadership development, mentoring, coaching and other structured development activities.
• Demonstrate increasing leadership capability and readiness to take on broader responsibilities throughout the programme.
• Contribute to strengthening organisational capability and supporting the development of a sustainable leadership pipeline.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
• 5–10 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with experience in a professional, managerial, technical and/or specialist role in the Engineering industry.
• Strong track record of professional achievement and demonstrated impact in previous roles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong learning agility and ability to adapt to different roles and environments.
• Ability to work effectively across functions and engage stakeholders at different levels of the organisation.
• Willingness to undertake rotational assignments and take on roles outside of one's existing area of expertise.
