Job Description

Responsibilities

The Site Engineer is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, execution, and supervision of construction activities at project sites. The role ensures that works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.

The Site Engineer will work closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, site supervisors, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth project execution and timely completion.

Key Responsibilities

Site & Project Execution

  • Supervise and monitor daily construction activities at the project site.
  • Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
  • Monitor site progress and highlight any delays, technical issues, or potential problems to the Project Manager / Project Engineer.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure completed works meet the required standards.
  • Assist in planning manpower, materials, equipment, and resources required for site activities.

Technical & Engineering

  • Review and understand project drawings, specifications, method statements, and technical documents.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues encountered during construction.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and other parties on technical matters.
  • Ensure site works comply with approved drawings and relevant engineering requirements.
  • Assist with measurements, quantity verification, site surveys, and other technical assessments where required.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain daily site reports, progress reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.
  • Record site activities, manpower, equipment, materials, work progress, and issues.
  • Assist in preparing progress claims, work records, variation orders, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, inspection documents, and site instructions.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress and site issues to the Project Manager / Project Engineer.

Quality & Safety

  • Ensure site activities comply with company quality standards and project requirements.
  • Conduct or assist in inspections and testing of completed works.
  • Identify defects, non-conformities, and quality issues and coordinate the necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure site activities comply with applicable safety requirements and company HSE procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and potential hazards immediately.

Coordination

  • Coordinate daily activities with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients, and internal teams.
  • Attend site meetings and assist in resolving project-related issues.
  • Follow up on material deliveries, equipment availability, and subcontractor work progress.
  • Support the Manager / Project Engineer in achieving project targets and deadlines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related engineering field.
  • Preferably 1–3 years of relevant site or construction experience.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also be considered.
  • Good understanding of construction processes, drawings, specifications, and site activities.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documents.
  • Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a project team.
  • Willing to work at construction sites and travel to project locations when required.
  • Possess a valid driving licence.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, or other relevant engineering software will be an advantage.

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
