Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Facility & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all facility systems, production equipment, and CNC-related assets within a regulated medical device & aerospace manufacturing environment. This role oversees preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, facility improvement projects, and regulatory compliance.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance for production machinery, CNC machines, utilities, and facility infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve equipment and facility breakdowns to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with medical device & aerospace regulatory standards, including ISO 13485, AS9100, GMP, and internal quality procedures.
  • Manage CNC machining equipment maintenance, calibration, alignment, and process stability.
  • Coordinate external contractors and vendors for facility services, equipment repairs, and technical upgrades.
  • Support facility operations covering HVAC, cleanrooms, compressed air systems, electrical distribution, fire protection systems, and water systems.
  • Lead or support engineering improvement projects to enhance safety, equipment performance, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, logbooks, calibration sheets, and facility documentation for audit readiness.
  • Monitor spare parts inventory and propose cost-effective solutions for asset maintenance and replacement.
  • Participate in EHS inspections, risk assessments, and corrective actions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new or upgraded equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians and cross-functional teams when addressing equipment issues.

Qualification Requirements

Credentials/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, preferably in CNC machining, tooling, or precision engineering environments.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing setting; exposure to medical device or aerospace facilities is an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, compressed air, fire safety, water treatment).
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, AS9100, GMP, and equipment validation requirements.
  • Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Good communication, planning, and project management skills.
  • Willing to support extended hours during critical breakdowns or urgent plant needs.
  • Technical troubleshooting and analytical thinking

  • Hands-on leadership with strong attention to detail
