About the Role

We are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience to join our technology team in Petaling Jaya. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable web and enterprise applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including product managers, designers, and senior developers—to deliver clean, high-performance code that drives business goals.

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities
• Application Development: Design, code, test, and deploy clean, scalable software applications throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• System Optimization: Refactor and optimize existing systems for maximum speed, security, and scalability.
• Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and QA teams to refine specifications, user stories, and technical requirements.
• API & Integrations: Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices to integrate internal and third-party systems.
• Code Quality: Participate actively in peer code reviews, write automated unit/integration tests, and enforce best engineering practices.
• Troubleshooting: Identify, debug, and resolve complex performance bottlenecks or production issues as they arise.

Requirements

• Core Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Status: Must be legally eligible to work in Malaysia (Malaysian Citizen / Permanent Resident / valid work permit).
• Technical Skills
• Backend Proficiency: Strong experience in modern backend technology stack (e.g., Node.js/TypeScript, Java/Spring Boot, C#/.NET, or Python).
• Frontend Proficiency: Solid foundation in HTML5, CSS3, and contemporary JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React.js, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Database Management: Working knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis).
• Version Control & DevOps: Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and basic cloud platform services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Architecture: Familiarity with RESTful APIs, MVC architecture, and microservice design patterns.
• Soft Skills
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia is a plus).
• Ability to work independently in an agile team environment.
