Job description:

We are looking for a competent and responsible BO Chargeman to join our Facilities Management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and reliable operation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical systems at our client sites, while supporting the overall day-to-day facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain electrical systems and installations at the assigned site.
• Conduct routine inspections of electrical switchboards, distribution boards, generators, transformers, UPS and related equipment.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure electrical systems remain safe and operational.
• Attend to electrical breakdowns, faults and emergency situations promptly.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and coordinate with technicians or contractors for rectification works.
• Ensure all electrical works are carried out in accordance with safety procedures, statutory requirements and site regulations.
• Monitor and maintain electrical logbooks, checklists, maintenance records and related documentation.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors/vendors carrying out electrical maintenance and repair works.
• Support the Facilities/Site Manager in managing daily M&E and facility-related activities.
• Assist in planned shutdowns, testing, inspections and other electrical-related activities.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards are maintained at electrical rooms and plant areas.
• Provide technical guidance to technicians and other site personnel when required.
• Respond to client complaints and service requests related to electrical systems.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Facilities Manager / Site Manager.

Requirements

• Valid BO Chargeman competency certificate recognised by the relevant authority.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, building maintenance or facilities management.
• Experience in commercial buildings, malls, hospitals, hotels, industrial facilities or other large-scale facilities will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of electrical systems, building services and maintenance practices.
• Familiar with electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work and LOTO practices.
• Able to troubleshoot electrical faults and respond effectively to breakdowns.
• Able to read and understand basic electrical drawings.
• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a technical team.
• Willing to work on standby (PH/RestDay) according to site operational requirements.
