Head of Facilities Management – Group

Job Type: Permanent
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Facilities Management – Group to lead the strategic planning, operations, and optimization of facilities across a multi-site and multi-region portfolio.

This senior leadership role will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective workplace environments that support business operations, employee productivity, and business continuity.

The position will oversee end-to-end facilities management, workplace services, infrastructure operations, vendor management, compliance, sustainability, and facilities-related projects at Group level.

Key Responsibilities
Group Facilities Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and execute the Group-wide facilities management strategy aligned with business growth.
  • Oversee corporate offices, plants, warehouses, and operational sites across multiple regions.
  • Ensure effective utilization, maintenance, and lifecycle management of physical assets.
  • Establish standardized and scalable facilities management frameworks across the Group.

Workplace & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee day-to-day facilities operations, including building maintenance, utilities, and workplace services.
  • Ensure uninterrupted facility operations through effective preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Lead workplace planning, space optimization, and office expansion initiatives.
  • Oversee fit-outs, refurbishments, relocations, and infrastructure projects.

Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage end-to-end vendor selection, contracting, and performance evaluation.
  • Negotiate service agreements to achieve cost efficiency, quality, and service excellence.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key facilities service providers.
  • Monitor SLA compliance and vendor performance across all locations.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local safety, environmental, and building regulations.
  • Implement and maintain HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards across facilities.
  • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Develop and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans.

Sustainability & Energy Management

  • Drive sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency and green building practices.
  • Monitor and reduce the environmental footprint of facilities operations.
  • Implement ESG-aligned facilities management practices and reporting frameworks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency and resource utilization.

Budgeting & Cost Optimization

  • Develop and manage Group-wide facilities budgets.
  • Establish effective cost-control measures and financial governance.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent tracking of facilities-related expenditures.

Stakeholder & Project Management

  • Collaborate with HR, IT, Security, Operations, and other functions to deliver integrated workplace solutions.
  • Support business expansion through site selection and infrastructure planning.
  • Lead facilities-related strategic projects and initiatives.
  • Provide regular performance reports, dashboards, and insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in Facilities Management, including significant leadership experience at Group or Regional level.
  • Proven experience managing multi-site facilities operations across large organizations.
  • Strong experience in facilities strategy, infrastructure management, vendor management, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Professional certifications in Facilities Management, HSE, Project Management, or related areas are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of workplace operations, building services, maintenance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
