Role Overview

The IT & Network Engineer is responsible for managing both internal office IT infrastructure and project-based network/system deployment for automation solutions. This role ensures reliable day-to-day IT operations while supporting industrial system integration across customer sites, bridging IT and OT environments.

Job Responsibilities

1.       Office IT Infrastructure & Support

·       Manage and maintain office IT systems including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals

·       Administer company network (LAN/WiFi), internet connectivity, VPN access, and firewall

·       Set up and maintain user accounts, email systems, shared drives, and access controls

·       Provide helpdesk support for employees (hardware, software, connectivity issues)

·       Ensure regular system updates, antivirus protection, backups, and IT asset management

·       Manage IT inventory, procurement, and lifecycle of equipment

2. Network & Infrastructure for Projects

• Design and configure industrial and enterprise networks (LAN/WAN/VLAN) for automation projects
• Set up routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems at customer sites
• Implement structured cabling and network architecture for systems such as ASRS, AMR, and production lines

3. System Integration Support

• Support deployment of WMS, MES, MMS, and other software platforms
• Configure servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), and databases
• Ensure seamless connectivity between PLCs, machines, sensors, and enterprise systems

4. IT & OT Convergence

• Integrate enterprise IT systems with industrial automation environments
• Work closely with software, PLC, and robotics teams for end-to-end system delivery
• Support communication protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, REST API

5. Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Implement and monitor security measures (firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection)
• Ensure compliance with internal IT policies and industrial cybersecurity practices
• Perform backup management, disaster recovery planning, and system monitoring

6. Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Diagnose and resolve office IT issues and project-related network/system issues
• Provide on-site and remote support during project deployment, FAT/UAT, and go-live
• Support post-deployment stabilization and maintenance

7. Documentation & Standardization

• Maintain IT documentation including network diagrams, asset lists, and configurations
• Prepare system architecture documentation for projects
• Support standardization under CoE and internal IT SOPs

Job Requirements

·       Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related field

·       2–5 years of experience in IT support and/or network engineering

·       Experience supporting both office IT operations and project environments is preferred

·       Networking: TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, routing & switching

·       Familiar with firewall and network devices (e.g. Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti)

·       Servers: Windows Server, Active Directory, basic Linux knowledge

·       Virtualization: VMware / Hyper-V

·       Basic database knowledge (SQL Server / MySQL)

·       Understanding of industrial communication protocols is an advantage

·       Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

·       Able to handle both operational IT support and project-based work

·       Good communication and teamwork skills

·       Willing to travel for project support when required
