We're Hiring: Senior Axway API Gateway (WAM/OPI)!

We are looking for an experienced Senior Axway API Gateway specialist to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API management, security protocols, and integration solutions. You will play a key role in managing and optimizing our API infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

What You'll Do:

The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance services using Java Spring Boot and API management technologies. Candidates may be aligned to either API Gateway (WAM) or Java Microservices (OPI) streams depending on expertise. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot  Develop and support API management solutions using Axway API Manager, API Gateway, or equivalent platforms (Apigee, Kong, Layer 7)   Build scalable backend services for enterprise banking applications (WAM/OPI)  Collaborate with architects, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver end-to-end solutions   Ensure API security, performance, and reliability across environments  Work on integration with Oracle 12c/19c databases and/or Cassandra DB  Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis   Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical solutioning  Support deployment activities in Unix/Linux environments Follow SDLC, coding standards, and DevOps best practices Required Skills:  6–9 years of experience in Java development or API/microservices development          Strong hands-on experience in Java Spring Boot (mandatory)      Proven experience in either : o     API Gateway / API Management platforms (Axway, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7), ORo   Java Spring Boot microservices development (mandatory one of the two)      Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments  Experience with Oracle Database (12c/19c) and/or Cassandra DB     Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture  Experience in debugging, performance tuning, and production support activities               Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Nice-to-Have Skills:    Knowledge of API security (OAuth2, JWT, SSO, MFA integration)      Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices  Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)     Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (ELK, Splunk, Prometheus)   Understanding of banking domain applications (WAM/OPI systems) Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments    Basic scripting knowledge (Shell scripting)
