About the role

Newman IDesign & Renovation Sdn Bhd is looking for a creative and enthusiastic Interior Design Intern to join our team in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the interior design industry, working alongside our design team on real residential and commercial projects. You will be exposed to the design process from concept development and space planning to 3D visualisation, material selection and site visits.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the design team in developing interior design concepts and layouts

• Assist in preparing 2D drawings, 3D models, renderings and presentations

• Support space planning and design development

• Assist with material, furniture and finish selections

• Prepare mood boards, material boards and design presentations

• Assist with client presentations and design discussions when required

• Participate in site visits, measurements and site inspections

• Coordinate with designers, contractors and suppliers when required

• Assist in preparing drawings and documentation for project implementation

• Research current interior design trends, materials and design solutions

About you

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design

• Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply

• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite or other design software

• Good understanding of interior design principles and space planning

• Creative, passionate and willing to learn

• Good attention to detail and a strong sense of design

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Responsible, proactive and able to work well in a team
