Role Description The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya. The teacher will design and implement individualized education plans for children on the Autism Spectrum, focusing on social, emotional, communication, cognitive, and motor development. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering lessons, facilitating play-based and structured learning activities, monitoring student progress, and documenting observations to adjust teaching approaches. The role involves collaborating closely with therapists and the wider team, communicating with families about student development, and preparing children for smooth transition into mainstream educational settings. The teacher will also help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment and support behavior management in line with the center’s philosophy.
Qualifications

• Strong understanding of disabilities and experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum.
• Proficiency in teaching and classroom management, with a focus on early childhood and special education.
• Knowledge of special education principles, individualized education plans, and inclusive learning strategies.
• Effective communication skills for engaging children, collaborating with colleagues, and partnering with families.
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in intervention programmes, play-based learning, and structured teaching methods is an advantage.
• Ability to work patiently, empathetically, and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong organizational skills, including lesson planning, documentation, and progress reporting.
