Job Description 

As a Senior Consultant at ESC, you will play a critical role in delivering high‑quality environmental consultancy services across Asia. Reporting to the Principal Consultant, you will lead multidisciplinary planning‑phase assignments such as environmental and social impact assessments (EIA/ESIA/ESHIA), baseline and feasibility studies, biodiversity and technical assessments, permitting support, and development of management plans. In this role, you will ensure strong project management, high‑quality deliverables, and constructive engagement with clients, authorities and internal teams, while also contributing to business development and supporting junior team members. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Lead planning‑phase studies, including EIAs/ESIAs/ESHIAs, baseline assessments, feasibility studies and permitting submissions. 

  • Produce high‑quality deliverables such as technical reports, proposals, tenders and planning‑stage documentation. 

  • Support integrated environmental and social assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory and international frameworks. 

  • Conduct biodiversity‑related assessments including baseline studies, critical habitat screening, impact assessment and management/action planning. 

  • Develop survey and sampling methodologies and oversee field surveys where required. 

  • Support environmental domain work across air, noise, water, soil and solid waste planning. 

  • Liaise with clients, authorities, donors and stakeholders to support approvals and planning processes. 

  • Facilitate consultations, workshops and technical discussions. 

  • Mentor Consultants and Associate Consultants; support coordination and knowledge sharing. 

  • Contribute to proposals, EOIs, pricing and opportunity development, support client relationship growth. 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science/engineering, ecology/biodiversity, planning or related discipline, Master's degree advantageous. 

  • 8–12 years’ experience in planning‑phase environmental consulting, including EIA/ESIA/ESHIA, feasibility studies, biodiversity assessments and permitting. 

  • Knowledge of regional regulatory frameworks and international safeguards. 

  • Strong project management, analytical and report‑writing skills. 

  • Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with GIS or environmental modelling tools advantageous. 

  • Professional integrity and ability to work collaboratively across teams and regions.
