Our client is seeking a skilled Software Developer with strong C++ expertise to join their growing engineering team. In this role, you will develop and enhance high-performance data processing systems, working on scalable microservices and distributed applications within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, enhance, and maintain C++-based microservices and backend applications.
- Optimise software performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale data processing.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to ensure system stability.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following engineering best practices.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold high development standards.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and support teams to streamline deployments and operations.
- Contribute to the architecture and design of distributed data processing pipelines.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in modern C++ development.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional software development experience using C++.
- Strong experience building microservices and asynchronous, multi-threaded applications.
- Solid Linux development and debugging experience.
- Good knowledge of databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with data serialisation technologies such as Apache Arrow, Parquet, Protocol Buffers, or FlatBuffers.
- Experience working with gRPC, HTTP/REST, and WebSocket protocols.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and containerisation, including AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of distributed systems and large-scale data processing architectures.
- Experience in the financial services industry, particularly market data, trading systems, or order gateways, would be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of memory management, performance optimisation, and low-latency system design is highly desirable.
