About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Manager to lead our cloud infrastructure, DevOps and cloud engineering capabilities. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and continuously improving secure, scalable and cost-effective cloud environments, primarily across AWS, with exposure to Azure and on-premises infrastructure.
This is both a technical leadership and hands-on role. You will lead cloud and DevOps initiatives, provide architectural guidance, manage technology partners and vendors, and act as the senior technical escalation point for critical cloud infrastructure issues. You will work closely with application, development, product, IT and business teams to ensure our cloud infrastructure is reliable, secure, highly available and aligned with business requirements.
What You Will Be Responsible For
Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture
- Lead the design, implementation and optimization of AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Develop secure, scalable, highly available and cost-effective cloud architectures.
- Design cloud solutions for new applications and systems.
- Establish cloud standards, governance and best practices.
- Plan capacity, performance, redundancy and disaster recovery.
- Provide technical recommendations to both engineering teams and senior management.
DevOps & Automation
- Lead CI/CD and DevOps practices across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Build and optimize automated deployment pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab and AWS DevOps.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Automate cloud provisioning, deployment, monitoring and operational processes.
- Drive improvements in operational efficiency through automation.
Containers & Kubernetes
- Lead the implementation and management of containerized platforms.
- Design and manage Kubernetes environments, including Amazon EKS, ECS, Docker and OpenShift.
- Ensure container platforms are secure, scalable and highly available.
Cloud Security, Networking & Governance
- Provide expertise in AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing, VPN, Direct Connect and load balancing.
- Implement cloud security best practices covering IAM, access control, encryption and compliance.
- Establish and maintain cloud landing zones and governance frameworks.
- Implement appropriate tagging, identity and access management policies.
Monitoring & Production Operations
- Ensure cloud environments are highly available, reliable and properly monitored.
- Implement observability solutions using tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, Datadog and Prometheus.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production incidents.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
- Act as the senior technical escalation point for high-severity cloud and DevOps incidents.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Work closely with application developers, product managers, IT teams and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into practical cloud solutions.
- Manage external technology vendors, system integrators and service providers.
- Lead technical evaluations, solution testing, RFPs and implementation projects.
- Communicate technical risks, design decisions, cost and trade-offs to both technical and executive audiences.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor cloud and DevOps engineers.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture, automation and operational processes.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and continuously improve the organization's cloud capabilities.
Essential Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in production IT infrastructure, cloud engineering or related environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud; Azure experience is also valuable.
- Proven experience designing, implementing and managing production cloud environments.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- Experience leading cloud infrastructure or DevOps projects.
- Experience managing third-party vendors, system integrators and technology partners.
- Experience supporting business-critical production environments.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional certification is highly desirable.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is also advantageous.
