We have been mandated by a leading investment bank to appoint a Structured Products Legal Counsel to support its global markets business. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with trading and structuring teams on sophisticated derivatives, structured products, and cross-border regulatory matters across Asia.
Your new role
- Draft, review, and negotiate trading, financing, collateral, and structured product documentation, including ISDA and related agreements.
- Support derivatives trading and structured product activities across a range of asset classes and global markets.
- Advise on regulatory and compliance matters relating to derivatives, product distribution, reporting obligations, and cross-border activities.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments, providing practical guidance to business stakeholders on key changes and market impacts.
- Partner with Trading, Structuring, Sales, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Operations teams to facilitate business initiatives and transaction execution.
- Deliver legal training and risk awareness programmes to business teams.
- Coordinate with external counsel, regulators, and industry participants on complex legal and regulatory matters.
What you'll need to succeed - Qualified lawyer from a common law jurisdiction with 6+ years of relevant experience in derivatives, structured products, or financial markets.
- Background gained from an investment bank, financial institution, or leading international law firm preferred.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin, with strong drafting and communication skills.
- Commercially minded, analytical, and capable of managing complex matters independently.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- International or cross-border experience would be advantageous.
