Responsibilities

Bonus: 1 month completion bonus

Duration: 1 year (Renewable)

Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:00pm

Allowances: Mobile Allowance /Meal Allowance /Heat & Noise Allowance

Location: MBS

Our client is the sole electrical grid and gas grid operator in the country, and provides electricity and gas transmission, distribution services, and market support services to more than a million households in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the District Cooling Plant (DCP) in accordance with operational procedures, process specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Carry out preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance works on electrical systems and equipment, including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), generators, UPS systems, DC chargers, and associated electrical installations.
  • Support engineers in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the District Cooling Plant.
  • Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, rectification, inspections, and condition monitoring of plant equipment to ensure optimum plant performance and availability.
  • Plan and execute routine and non-routine maintenance activities in compliance with safety requirements and maintenance schedules.
  • Attend to emergency call-outs and breakdown maintenance works as required.
  • Prepare and periodically review Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements (MS), Permit-to-Work (PTW), Work Instructions (WI), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensure maintenance records, technical documentation, and operational logs are properly maintained and comply with ISO standards and company requirements.
  • Assist engineers in the sourcing and procurement of spare parts, maintenance materials, and equipment.
  • Support inspection, testing, commissioning, and acceptance of new or repaired plant equipment.
  • Supervise contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract specifications.
  • Monitor contractor performance and maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, operational efficiency, and safety performance.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of management systems, including ISO 37001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001, as well as support internal and external audits.
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to technicians in the execution of operation and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with internal departments, contractors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Support business continuity planning, emergency preparedness, and contingency exercises.
  • Perform any other duties and projects assigned by Management.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within industrial plants, utilities, district cooling plants, data centres, power plants, or similar environments.
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in MV/LV electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills in electrical systems.
  • Experience in supervising technicians, contractors, and maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Risk Assessment (RA), and workplace safety practices.
  • Knowledge of ISO management systems and audit requirements will be an advantage.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, responsible, and a strong team player with a positive work attitude.
  • Able to work independently and respond to emergency maintenance situations when required.
