Our Client

Our client is an established organisation operating in the engineering and project-based services sector. As part of its continued focus on strengthening financial insights, reporting capabilities and business performance, the organisation is seeking an analytical and commercially minded Manager, Finance to join its team.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Finance/CFO, you will provide accurate and timely management reporting and deliver meaningful financial insights across the Group.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating monthly management reporting and preparing executive-level financial summaries.

• Analysing performance against budgets, forecasts and prior-year results, including revenue, gross margin, SG&A, EBITDA and cash flow.

• Reviewing project profitability, margin development, cost-to-complete assumptions and forecast accuracy.

• Identifying the causes of cost overruns, margin erosion and other financial risks.

• Supporting annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, scenario modelling and project pipeline reporting.

• Developing KPIs, dashboards and management reporting tools.

• Automating reporting processes using Excel, Power Query, Power BI or similar tools.

• Partnering project managers, operational teams and senior management to translate financial information into actionable business insights.

• Supporting finance transformation, governance, audit and process improvement initiatives.

You will be expected to act as an independent challenger of financial and project performance, helping management identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity and overall business performance.

Your Profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.

• A professional qualification such as CA, CPA or ACCA would be advantageous.

• Approximately 4 to 7 years of relevant experience, preferably with a Big 4 audit background.

• Experience in FP&A, business analysis or finance transformation will be viewed favourably.

• Exposure to EPC, engineering, construction, industrial services, oil and gas, petrochemical or other project-based environments would be highly advantageous.

• Strong understanding of project accounting, margin analysis, revenue and cost recognition, financial performance drivers and forecasting.

• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Power Query or other data analytics tools is preferred.

• Exposure to ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP or Oracle would be useful.

• Curious, analytical and detail-oriented, with the confidence to challenge assumptions independently.

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage both finance and non-finance teams.
