Yew Chung Education Foundation Limited Hiring! Full Time Laboratory Technician (International School) in Hong Kong - Ricebowl

Responsibilities:

• Prepare materials and apparatus for demonstrations and class practical lessons as requested by teachers.
• Prepare laboratories, materials and apparatus for practical examinations.
• Follow health and safety guidelines as appropriate.
• Clear away materials and apparatus after practical work
• Maintain, clean and repair apparatus.
• Purchase apparatus, chemicals, materials and consumables in consultation with Head of Science.
• Store apparatus, chemicals and materials systemically following correct safety procedures.
• Keep a stock record.
• Ensure laboratories are maintained in a safe, tidy condition and are well stocked with consumable and standard items.
• Ensure preparation rooms are maintained in a safe, tidy condition.
• Assist teachers with class experiments and demonstrations.
• Work flexibly as part of a team.
• Undertake other reasonable tasks as directed by Head of Science.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science related subjects
• Possess a Laboratory Technician Certificate issued by the Hong Kong Polytechnic, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), or a recognized Technical/Industrial Institute in Hong Kong
• Sound knowledge of at least one area of Science.
• Awareness of safe Science working practice.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Willingness to gain skills in all aspects of Science.
• Good IT skills such as spreadsheets, word processing and data logging.
