Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced individual to lead the successful delivery of a next-generation core system platforms implementation with downstream applications and systems across different business segments (Banking, Financial Services, Insurance).


This role involves managing complex project portfolios, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring project outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in large-scale IT transformation projects, especially in financial services environments, with a deep understanding of the regulatory, operational, and technical challenges involved in legacy-to-modern platform migration.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Governance

  • Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource forecasts
  • Establish governance frameworks including steering committees, RAID logs, and quality gates

Project Execution & Delivery

  • Lead day-to-day execution of the program, managing cross-functional workstreams (e.g., functional, technology, Integration, Data Migration, Testing, Change Management, etc.)
  • Monitor and control project performance across time, cost, scope, and quality
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies to keep the program on track

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between business sponsors, delivery teams, vendors, and external partners
  • Drive alignment across internal teams, IT, operations, compliance, and third-party providers
  • Manage executive reporting (i.e. PSC, PWC) and ensure transparency of status, risks, and decisions

Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with core system vendors and system integrators
  • Oversee vendor delivery against SLAs, milestones, and contractual obligations
  • Facilitate joint planning, issue resolution, and performance reviews

Change, Communication & Benefits Realisation

  • Oversee change management activities including training, business readiness, and communications
  • Track business case metrics and ensure measurable benefits are realised post-implementation
  • Support post-go-live stabilisation and continuous improvement planning


Required Qualifications

Education & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Over 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years leading large-scale transformation project in diverse systems including banking, financial, procurement and so on.
  • Experience delivering core system replacements or modernisation initiatives (e.g., banking core, insurance policy admin systems)
  • Functional expertise and understanding of financial services core modules, such as:

(CASA, Deposits, Loans, Payments, Customer, Treasury)

  • Familiarity with banking operations, business processes, and regulatory reporting (e.g., financial accounting, CCRIS, STATsmart, MFRS, PIDM, EAL)
  • Insurance (e.g. Policy administration, Underwriting, Claims Management, Payments, Re-insurance)
  • Treasury (e.g. Customer, Trade Booking, Trade Event, Settlement, Post Settlement, etc.)


Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating multiple vendors, internal teams, and senior client leadership
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and decision-making capabilities
  • Problem-solving mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
