Team Management: Lead painting process engineer and technician team, carry out robot path programming and process debugging skill coaching, set team KPIs, carry out performance assessment, skill training and talent development, build a stable professional painting process team.
Process System Establishment: Establish and improve painting process management system, formulate process standards, robot path standards, SOP work instructions, PFMEA, control plan, promote standardization and normalization of painting process.
Process Optimization & KPI Achievement: Responsible for painting robot path optimization, spray parameter (flow, voltage, gun distance, gun moving speed) debugging, optimize full process parameters of pretreatment, oven, solve defects such as uneven film thickness, orange peel, sagging, color difference, achieve core KPIs including painting RFT, defect rate, coating utilization, per-unit cost, process takt time.
Major Quality Problem Handling: Lead handling of batch painting quality abnormalities and customer quality complaints, organize cross-department team to analyze root causes with 8D and other tools, formulate corrective and preventive actions, track rectification closed loop.
New Project Process Management: Coordinate new project painting process development, robot path programming & commissioning, new color commissioning, process validation, PPAP document submission, connect with customer process audit, ensure new project smooth SOP mass production on schedule.
Process Cost Reduction: Promote cost reduction projects such as robot path optimization to improve coating utilization, process parameter optimization to reduce defect rate, consumable localization, achieve annual process cost reduction target.
Process Discipline Management: Regularly organize process discipline inspection, check consistency of on-site robot path, process parameters with standards, correct on-site illegal operations, ensure production strictly follows process standards, improve process stability.
Supplier Management: Manage coating, painting consumable, robot service providers, regularly evaluate supplier quality, delivery and service performance, promote supplier quality improvement, optimize purchasing cost.
EHS Compliance Management: Implement explosion protection, VOCs emission, hazardous chemical storage and use requirements in painting area, regularly check process safety, ensure painting process complies with Malaysia environmental and safety regulations.
Complete other temporary tasks assigned by superior.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above, major in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Materials, Painting Technology, Automotive Engineering or relevant disciplines.
More than 3 years painting process experience in auto parts industry, experience in automotive exterior plastic parts (bumper/tailgate) painting process is preferred
Experience in ABB/FANUC/Dürr painting robot path programming, new color commissioning, new model path optimization is an advantage.
Basic English reading and writing ability, capable of understanding English coating technical data and process documents, can communicate simply with coating suppliers and robot service providers.
Proficient in Office software, able to use Minitab for SPC statistical analysis, can read painting process drawings, proficient in robot offline programming software such as RobotStudio/RoboGuide.
Must be willing to attend a 3-6 months overseas training program.
