Job Description

Our client is seeking a Sales Trader to join their Singapore office on a permanent, full-time basis (5 days per week, on-site). The role involves providing a continuous daily mix of exceptional business development, relationship management, execution services, and risk management to the company's most valuable clients. The desired outcome is to maximise Premium Client retention while growing and improving the business through client referrals and networking.

Responsibilities

Business Development and Account Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to grow High Net Worth retail and Accredited Investor trading volumes in the Singapore office
  • Own and drive the sales trading proposition, working with the sales team to enhance client acquisition, retention, and trading activity
  • Proactively generate business through networking, referrals, seminars, and industry events, creating tailored materials as needed
  • Provide high-quality relationship management to premium clients, ensuring a positive and customised trading experience
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a seamless client lifecycle from onboarding to retention
  • Identify opportunities to educate clients on products and services, continuously improving service offerings
  • Maintain strong market knowledge to support execution trading and provide relevant insights to clients
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Trading and Business Operations, to optimise client experience and platform improvements
  • Foster client relationships through regular engagement, including out-of-hours hospitality events when needed
  • Work with the Executive Committee to meet revenue targets and drive business and marketing strategies
  • Act as the internal and external expert on products and platforms, providing education and demonstrations as required

Media and Compliance

  • Provide ad-hoc media commentary, both written and verbal, for Public Relations purposes, including television, radio, and written formats
  • Deliver insightful market commentary to promote the service and enhance media presence
  • Adhere to local and global compliance guidelines, ensuring all activities meet relevant regulations
  • Maintain professional development through ongoing regulatory and legislative training
  • Ensure all customer and colleague interactions are clear, fair, and consistent, upholding a professional image
  • Safeguard confidentiality and comply with privacy, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR) requirements

Product Management

  • Be the product and platform expert for both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to competently demonstrate and educate clients in its use

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in derivatives and financial sales
  • Proven success in Business-to-Consumer (B2C) and Business-to-Business (B2B) business development
  • Strong knowledge of global financial markets and asset classes
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numeracy skills
  • Clear communication of complex financial concepts, both written and verbal
  • Strong telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with excellent organisation and time management
  • Tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • Proven ability to trade accurately and efficiently on behalf of clients
  • Familiarity with platform and phone dealing processes
  • Ability to communicate client orders to sales traders and dealers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to bring an existing book of clients is highly desirable
  • Prior experience with media or Public Relations commentary
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure, target-driven environment
