Responsibilities
Position: Solar Supply Chain (Procurement/ Purchasing)
This position works closely with the Finance, project, technical and logistics teams and supports import shipment tracking and clearance processes, including coordination with Customs authorities and Port Klang when required.
Key Responsibilities:
· Source and procure materials, equipment and services required for EPCC solar projects.
· Coordinate with project and technical teams to confirm procurement requirements, schedules and priorities.
· Prepare, issue and manage purchase orders end‑to‑end in accordance with company policies and approval limits.
· Liaise with suppliers on pricing, delivery schedules, order status and supporting documentation.
· Monitor deliveries and resolve issues related to delays, quantity discrepancies, quality concerns or pricing variations.
· Support supplier negotiations to achieve competitive pricing and favourable delivery terms.
· Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and procurement documentation.
· Support supplier evaluation and ongoing performance monitoring.
· Prepare procurement reports, summaries and cost tracking information for management review.
· Compile Purchase Orders (POs), Delivery Orders (DOs) and invoices for submission to the Accounts Department for payment processing.
· Assist in stock counts and maintain sales order listings.
ü Import & Logistics Coordination (Critical Scope):
· Actively monitor import shipments and Port Klang clearance status for critical and long‑lead items.
· Liaise with Customs authorities, Port Klang, freight forwarders, and logistics agents to ensure smooth and timely clearance of imported materials and equipment.
· Assess and communicate logistics risk exposure, including customs delays, regulatory changes or port congestion to relevant stakeholders.
· Initiate timely escalation to management when logistics or customs risks exceed acceptable thresholds with clear recommendations to protect project timelines and cost.
· Support management in implementing corrective actions, alternative logistics arrangements or schedule recovery measures when required.
Requirements & Qualifications:
· Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field
· Minimum 5 years of experience in the procurement/purchasing related field.
· Experience in construction, EPCC or renewable energy is an advantage
· Basic knowledge of procurement processes
· Strong organisational and coordination skills
· Good communication skills in Mandarin/Cantonese to effectively communicate with Mandarin/Cantonese-speaking clients.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Experience with the I-Setia system
· Able to work in a fast‑paced, project‑based environment
· Possess experience using accounting systems for Purchase Order (PO) processes (e.g., AutoCount).
Additional / Preferred requirements:
· Experience liaising with Customs authorities and import clearance at Port Klang.
· Familiarity with customs documentation, freight forwarding and import procedures.
· Experience procurement systems.
· Exposure to solar PV or renewable energy supply chains.
· Experience managing long‑lead or critical project materials.
· Exposure to supplier performance analysis or procurement KPIs.
· Experience supporting audits, tender documentation or contract administration.
· Perform ad-hoc tasks related to procurement to support operations and other departments, including Purchase Order (PO)-related activities.
