Responsibilities

The MPFA was set up in September 1998 under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485). Our mission is to regulate and supervise privately managed provident fund schemes; to educate the working population about saving for retirement and the role of the MPF System as one of the pillars supporting retirement living; and to lead improvements to provident fund schemes to make them more efficient and user-friendly, and better meet the needs of the working population.

The Job

Supervise support staff in implementing, upgrading, enhancing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure;

Lead and coordinate IT infrastructure projects and initiatives;

Develop IT infrastructure to support new application systems;

Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards;

Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes;

Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of infrastructure components;

Proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime;

Develop, maintain, and enforce IT infrastructure standards, guidelines, and procedures;

Coordinate with and monitor the performance of appointed suppliers and service providers;

Provide management information and technical advice, and recommend proposals to IT management for infrastructure enhancements;

Assist in preparing the annual budget and monitoring expenditures for IT infrastructure upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance; and

Perform other duties as assigned.

The Person

A recognized degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent;

At least eight years of solid, hands-on experience in implementing and supporting large-scale, complex, and mission-critical IT infrastructure;

Experience in most of the following technology domains:
Red Hat AI, OpenShift and container/docker architecture administration

Microsoft Azure, M365, Copilot, Power Automate, Teams and Entra ID administration

MS Exchange and SharePoint server administration including on-premises / hybrid / cloud deployments

MS Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, and Windows Server administration

Virtualization technologies, e.g. VMware, Nutanix, etc.

WebSphere or other Java application server administration

AIX server administration and Enterprise SAN administration

Remote Access and VDI Solution administration, e.g. Citrix, Sangfor, etc.

Backup Solutions and appliance management

Database administration, e.g. Oracle and MSSQL, etc.

Infrastructure project management

Professional certification in any of the above areas, and network and security, will be an advantage;

Able to communicate concisely and clearly to suit the audience and occasions;

Keen to improve and add value to work;

Good interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills; and

Mature, customer-oriented, independent, flexible and a good team player.

Remuneration Package

A competitive remuneration and benefits package including a discretionary performance-linked variable pay, annual leave, medical, dental and life insurance coverage, and MPF will be offered. All new appointments will be made on a two-year fixed-term contract initially prior to consideration for appointment on a non-fixed-term basis.
