About The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting operations in Malaysia. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, robust internal controls, and effective treasury management while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
As a key member of the finance team, you will lead accounting operations, drive process improvements, support audits and tax compliance, and partner closely with regional stakeholders to deliver high-quality financial insights and business support.
What will you do
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial records in accordance with IFRS, local statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare accounting schedules, management reports, and financial analyses.
- Maintain strong governance and financial controls across all accounting processes.
Accounts Receivable & Credit Management
- Lead accounts receivable operations, including customer credit reviews, reconciliations, collections monitoring, and aging analysis.
- Ensure compliance with credit management policies and authorization procedures.
- Manage customer master data and credit control activities.
Accounts Payable & Payment Management
- Oversee accounts payable operations, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing with proper documentation and approvals.
- Coordinate and reconcile transactions with regional affiliates.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity requirements to support daily operations.
- Manage cash forecasting, banking activities, and treasury reporting.
- Support intercompany financing, dividend payments, and foreign exchange risk management activities.
- Ensure timely submission of treasury reports and forecasts.
Tax, Audit & Statutory Compliance
- Lead internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely filing of GST/SST/VAT returns and statutory financial reports.
- Review tax computations and annual tax submissions.
- Maintain compliance with local legal, financial, and tax regulations.
Governance, Internal Controls & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with group policies, financial procedures, and local regulations.
- Review and strengthen internal controls and risk management processes.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with corporate and statutory requirements.
- Support Risk Control Matrix (RCM) reviews and compliance assessments.
Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making.
- Drive process optimization and finance system improvements.
- Act as a key user and process owner for finance and accounting systems.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the local finance team.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Experience
- 5-7 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Experience managing full-set accounting, tax, treasury, and audit activities.
- ERP experience is required; SAP/S4HANA experience is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
