Role Summary

The Business Systems & Data Lead is responsible for translating business needs into clear system requirements, reliable data logic, operational workflows, and reporting outcomes. This role sits between business teams, technical teams, management, and external vendors to ensure CRM, sales reporting, dashboards, marketplace tools, and data processes are accurate, practical, and aligned with real business operations.

This is a hybrid role covering business analysis, systems ownership, data validation, reporting logic, vendor discovery, UAT, and stakeholder documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for CRM, sales operations, reporting dashboards, marketplace, and booking-related workflows.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications, process flows, data rules, acceptance criteria, and user stories.
• Define and validate reporting logic, formulas, derived fields, filters, column mappings, and dashboard-ready outputs.
• Work with technical teams to troubleshoot data pipeline issues, system behavior, workflow gaps, and reporting discrepancies.
• Validate data outputs from JDE, CRM, sales reports, CSV files, workbooks, and dashboard pipelines.
• Support CRM and business system enhancements, including user workflows, activity tracking, sales pipeline reporting, audit trails, and role-based documentation.
• Lead discovery discussions with vendors and integration partners, especially around APIs, payment flows, booking flows, refunds, reconciliation, failure handling, and operational constraints.
• Prepare user manuals, SOPs, business documentation, executive updates, meeting notes, and stakeholder-ready summaries.
• Coordinate UAT activities, including test scenario preparation, issue tracking, validation, and business sign-off.
• Identify process gaps, data quality risks, operational dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Act as the bridge between business users and technical delivery teams to ensure solutions are usable, accurate, and maintainable.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in business analysis, business systems, data operations, product operations, or digital transformation roles.
• Strong understanding of business process mapping, requirements gathering, and workflow documentation.
• Hands-on experience with reporting logic, data validation, dashboards, spreadsheets, CSV files, or operational datasets.
• Ability to explain technical or data issues clearly to business stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, especially around formulas, column definitions, data mapping, and output validation.
• Experience working with CRM, ERP, sales reporting, marketplace, booking, or operational systems.
• Strong stakeholder management and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working with technical teams on APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and system defects.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with JDE, CRM platforms, sales dashboards, BI/reporting workflows, or data transformation processes.
• Exposure to travel technology, online booking tools, payment gateways, GDS/API providers, or marketplace platforms.
• Familiarity with UAT, vendor discovery, reconciliation, refunds, settlement reporting, and operational risk checks.
• Basic understanding of SQL, Python, pandas, APIs, or system integration concepts is a plus.
