Job Summary

Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated testing solutions, frameworks and test infrastructure for banking applications. The SDET combines strong software development and testing skills to build scalable automated tests across UI, API, integration and backend layers.

The role works closely with Developers, Test Managers, QA Engineers, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and DevOps teams to improve software quality and accelerate continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks for banking applications.
• Write high-quality, maintainable and reusable test automation code.
• Develop automated tests covering:
• Functional testing
• Regression testing
• API testing
• Integration testing
• End-to-end testing
• Database testing
• Analyse business and technical requirements and identify automation opportunities.
• Convert manual test scenarios into automated test scripts.
• Develop reusable automation libraries, utilities and test components.
• Perform API automation testing for REST / SOAP services.
• Validate API requests, responses, business logic and data.
• Perform database validation using SQL.
• Automate end-to-end banking transaction flows.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Configure and maintain automated test execution within Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps or similar platforms.
• Execute automated regression suites across different environments.
• Investigate automation failures and identify whether the cause is application defects, test code, environment or test data.
• Analyse test results and generate automation reports.
• Identify software defects and track them through resolution.
• Participate in defect triage with Developers and QA teams.
• Perform defect retesting and regression testing.
• Review application architecture and identify areas suitable for test automation.
• Collaborate with Developers to improve application testability and code quality.
• Conduct code reviews for test automation scripts.
• Maintain source code using Git or similar version-control systems.
• Support performance and security testing automation where required.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks, tools and testing processes.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field.
• 4–8+ years of experience in Software Testing / Test Automation / SDET.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, C# or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Strong hands-on experience developing automation frameworks.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent automation tools.
• Strong experience with API automation and testing.
• Good SQL and backend testing skills.
• Experience integrating automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Good understanding of software development practices such as Git, code reviews and version control.
• Banking / financial-services experience is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
