Job Description
Responsibilities
1. Material & Inventory Management
Manage the receiving, storage, issuance, and return of raw materials, spare parts, and other warehouse materials.
Ensure proper inventory management practices, including FIFO, stock accuracy, and regular inventory checks.
Monitor inventory levels and material consumption to minimize material loss and prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
Coordinate with Purchasing and relevant departments to ensure timely material replenishment and prevent material backlogs.
2. Unpacking Room Operations
Oversee daily unpacking, labeling, inspection, and transfer of materials to production areas.
Ensure materials are handled and stored according to established quality, safety, and cleanroom requirements.
Monitor compliance with anti-static (ESD) and other applicable handling procedures.
3. Safety & Compliance
Ensure warehouse and unpacking room operations comply with company safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment, storage areas, fire safety facilities, and material handling practices.
Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable regulations and company procedures.
Conduct safety briefings and training for warehouse personnel.
4. Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely updating of material transactions in the relevant systems.
Prepare inventory, material usage, and stock movement reports.
Analyze material consumption and inventory trends to support operational planning and cost control.
Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits.
5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Lead and supervise warehouse and unpacking room personnel, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and daily operations.
Provide guidance and training to team members to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Work closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth material flow and production support.
Identify operational issues and implement appropriate improvement measures.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Warehouse Management, or a related field.
Experience in warehouse, material management, inventory control, manufacturing, or a related industry will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory control, material handling, warehouse operations, and stock management.
Good planning, coordination, problem-solving, and execution skills.
Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at different levels.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively to meet deadlines.
Proficient in English and Mandarin. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.
Able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively in a multicultural working environment.
Good proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or relevant inventory management systems.
