Job Description

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support complex laser drilling applications . This role is critical in driving New Product Introduction (NPI) transfers , optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring seamless production support. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with hands-on problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality results that meet customer commitments.

Job Duties:

NPI Transfer & Process Development

  • Lead manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
  • Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure smooth transfer into production.
  • Develop and validate robust manufacturing processes for laser drilling applications.
  • Ensure work instructions are in placed and accurate for production use.

Process Optimization & Workflow Improvement

  • Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve efficiency and repeatability.
  • Analyze workflows and implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce cycle time and cost.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.

Production Support

  • Provide technical guidance to production technicians to resolve issues quickly.
  • Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure production schedules and customer ship dates are consistently met.

Part Qualification & Lifecycle Management

  • Support qualification of OEM End-of-Life (EOL) parts and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Develop qualification plans, execute testing, and document results.
  • Partner with supply chain and quality teams to manage part transitions effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably with laser machining or precision processes.
  • Strong knowledge of jig/fixture design, process validation, and lean manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience supporting production teams and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with laser drilling or micro-machining applications.
  • Familiarity with NPI transfer processes in a high-tech manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OEM part qualification and lifecycle management.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and statistical process control (SPC).
