About SELF
SELF (www.self.sg) is a social enterprise that empowers individuals to thrive in their personal and professional lives. We design and deliver transformative learning experiences that build self-awareness, confidence, and resilience. Through our programmes, we empower individuals to be a champion of their lives.

Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support students with special educational needs (SEN) at MOE schools. The role involves planning and facilitating structured sessions in life skills, behavioural support, and emotional regulation, working closely with the school's SEN team to help students build independence, self-regulation, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver structured sessions covering life skills development (personal organisation, self-care routines, following instructions, navigating everyday social situations), behavioural skills (positive behaviour reinforcement, self-regulation), and emotional regulation (identifying and expressing emotions, coping strategies, resilience-building), adapted to students' developmental needs and profiles.
  • Provide both group-based and individual support, building rapport with each student and adjusting approaches to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the school's Special Educational Needs Officer (SENO), form teachers, and school counsellor — including attending case discussions, sharing observations, and aligning activities with students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs) where applicable.
  • Maintain session records and submit progress reports at the mid-point and end of the engagement, summarising activities, observations, and recommendations for follow-up support.
  • Adhere to the school's child safeguarding policies at all times, escalating any welfare concerns promptly to the SENO or school counsellor.

Who We're Looking For
We are not just looking for ad-hoc trainers — we want individuals who resonate with our mission and are excited to be part of a team that makes a lasting impact for students who need it most. You are:

  • Passionate about supporting children and youth with special educational needs.
  • Patient, observant, and skilled at building trust with students who may need more time and structure to engage.
  • Comfortable working within a school's SEN ecosystem, alongside SENOs, form teachers, and counsellors.
  • Open to learning and growing alongside a purpose-driven team.

Requirements

  • Recognised qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field (minimum Diploma level).
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children or youth with SEN, preferably with ID, ASD, or ADHD profiles.
  • Familiarity with positive behaviour support strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Strong communication skills with both students and school staff.
  • Registered (or eligible to be registered) as an MOE instructor.

If you are eager to be part of a purpose-driven team and want to grow the business together while sharing in its success, we'd love to hear from you!

License/Certification:

  • MOE Instructor Registration (Required)

Remuneration:

  • Part-time: $25-35 per hour
  • Full-time: $************* per month
