Job Summary

We are looking for a passionate, hardworking and reliable Burger Shop Chef to prepare high-quality burgers and maintain excellent food quality, consistency and kitchen hygiene. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and be able to work efficiently during peak meal periods.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation

• Prepare and cook burgers, sandwiches and other menu items according to company recipes.
• Grill beef patties, chicken, steaks and other proteins to required standards.
• Prepare sauces, toppings and ingredients before service.
• Portion ingredients accurately to minimise wastage.
• Ensure food presentation meets company standards.

Kitchen Operations

• Operate grills, fryers, salamanders and other kitchen equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout service.
• Follow opening, closing and cleaning procedures.
• Conduct daily stock checks and report shortages.
• Receive and store deliveries following FIFO (First-In-First-Out).

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Maintain excellent food hygiene at all times.
• Comply with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) food safety requirements.
• Ensure proper food storage temperatures.
• Keep kitchen equipment clean and sanitised.
• Prevent cross-contamination.

Quality Control

• Ensure every burger served meets company standards.
• Monitor cooking temperatures and holding times.
• Reject ingredients that do not meet quality standards.
• Report equipment faults immediately.

Teamwork

• Work closely with kitchen and service staff.
• Assist with training junior kitchen crew when required.
• Maintain a positive attitude during busy service periods.

Requirements

Essential

• Previous experience in a burger restaurant, café, western kitchen or fast-food kitchen preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to multitask efficiently.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
• Able to lift up to 20kg when required.
• Punctual, responsible and reliable.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn.
• Able to work weekends and public holidays.

Preferred

• Food Hygiene Certificate (Singapore).
• Experience operating commercial grills and deep fryers.
• Experience with inventory management and stock control.

Working Hours

• 6 working days per week
• 12 hours per day
• Rotating shifts according to operational requirements
• One rest day per week
• Overtime payable in accordance with the Employment Act where applicable.
